The market launch of the Stahlfolder TH 82-P with the shingled folding principle in 2016 took folding performance to a whole new level. The next generation of this revolutionary folding machine was launched in 2024. One of the first customers is Print Alliance.
Print Alliance, based in Bad Vöslau, is not only Austria's first V-label certified print shop, but also sets standards in terms of sustainability and quality. With over 150 employees, the company offers an impressive range of print products, including books, catalogs, magazines, and packaging.
Its commitment to environmentally friendly printing is particularly noteworthy: Production is carried out using 100% renewable energy, complemented by carbon-neutral printing options and certifications such as FSC and the Eu Ecolabel. State-of-the-art technologies and award-winning print quality make Print Alliance a leading provider of high-quality print products.
Print Alliance had been producing on two Stahlfolder TX 96 folding machines for some time - so the company was already familiar with the shingled folding principle. "Our two Stahlfolder TX 96 took our signature production to a whole new level of productivity back then," says Martin Wlacil, Managing Director of Print Alliance HAV Produktions GmbH. Naturally, this level of productivity was to be maintained with the new investment. This is why Wlacil ultimately opted for the new Stahlfolder TH 82-P, which also supports this folding principle that is unique on the market.
At Print Alliance, each job is assigned to a free folding machine at short notice after printing. While the Stahlfolder TX 96 requires special impositioning schemes, jobs intended for the Stahlfolder TH 82-P can also be folded on conventional folding machines and vice versa. This flexibility makes production processes much easier.
Thanks to the new Advanced Shingle function, which describes various design optimizations of the folding geometry in the folding unit, the second generation of the Stahlfolder TH 82-P promises higher average productivity. It allows an even greater proportion of orders to be processed reliably shingled. The StackStar P, the suitable stacking system for such industrial folding systems, perfectly complements the folding machine and also contributes to the increase in efficiency.
"Investing in such a folding machine without a stacking system would not have been an option. None of our employees can be expected to set down these quantities of paper by hand. With the StackStar P, however, we can make full use of the productivity and the process flow is much more stable. Our employees are delighted to be working with their steel colleague," says Wlacil, commenting on the investment.
Unattended production is now even easier with the new Stahlfolder TH 82-P thanks to the Smartlight status display: The operating status is clearly visible even from a distance.
