This 23-year-old Limerick-based commercial printing company is owned by Brendan Ring and TJ Ryan, and employs 32 staff. CUBE specializes in the production of instructions for use booklets and product information leaflets for the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and technology markets. In December of 2019, CUBE celebrated the arrival of an Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter and a Diana Go 85 folder gluer at their premises. This purchase marked CUBE’s first investment in postpress packaging, an activity the company plans to grow in the years to come.
“We wanted to partner with a provider who has a proven track record of many years, who would be able to provide us with state-of-the-art technology, and who has the infrastructure and backup here in Ireland. We wanted someone who would support us as our business continues to grow,” explains James Maloney, Operations and Finance Manager at CUBE, the decision to work with Heidelberg.

The Easymatrix 106 CS features a die-cutting and stripping station that can convert a wide range of materials into cartons, thus enabling packaging, and commercial applications. The machine has a maximum cutting speed of 7,700 sheets per hour, processing materials from as thin as 90 g/m2 to cardboard of up to 2,000 g/m2 in formats of up to 760 x 1,060 mm (29.92 x 41.73 in).
The Diana Go 85 is a folder gluer suitable for materials ranging from 200 – 600 g/m2 for solid cardboard, E flute for corrugated cardboard, and certain types of paper stock. It can run a wide range of carton styles, including straight-line and lockbottom cartons, as well as document wallets, envelopes, CD sleeves, and a few special applications, depending on the size of the product and the number of folds.
