"We strive for perfection with the best machinery on the market"

Based in Ontinyent near Valencia (Spain), full-service printshop 3Graphic sums up its mission in three ideas: serve the customer, promote their ideas, and implement whatever projects they have to perfection. Serving both the commercial and packaging sectors, the print shop has a holistic approach to services which integrates graphic design, printing and a complete range of finishing service at its facilities in Ontinyent.

3Graphic (pronounce "Tressgraphic") has grown considerably in recent years, mainly thanks to an excellent working environment, modern equipment and a very high technical level. Rafa Borreda, the company's director, says: "We strive for perfection with the best machines on the market. For us, Heidelberg is synonymous with quality in the printing industry."

For Rafa and his team, it all comes done to the sale of the final product. Because in the end, printing effects and finishes, along with good photography and excellent design, will help sell the product. This means ensuring top quality at all times, not only for magazines and brochures, but also for all packaging jobs which are becoming more and more sophisticated and personalized. New printing and post-printing technologies introduced in recent years have allowed the company to push the limits of design, automate processes and reduce processing time, all to satisfy the customer and ultimately the consumer on the street.

Strategic investments: Promatrix, Suprasetter, Speedmaster, Versafire and Diana Easy

Over the past three years, 3Graphic has invested in five pieces of equipment to carry out an ambitious plan for the future. Controlling its own resources and mastering all production processes ensures that the quality of the final product always lives up to the expectations of each project.

First of all, a Speedmaster CD 102 optimized for printing high value-added jobs. Several features make this press versatile enough to adapt to all types of jobs: centralized planning and control system, automatic ink regulation with temperature control, automatic blanket, roller and impression cylinder washing, Autoplate, coating unit with double roller system, IR dryers, etc. In addition to its excellent price/performance ratio, 3Graphic appreciated the press's high production potential, its ability to be customized in terms of configuration and what this meant for its future growth.

The CtP system chosen by the company is a Suprasetter E in 105 format. With this equipment, 3Graphic ensures quality and stable, reliable plate availability.

Also in the same room is a Versafire EV, an indispensable resource for the company's entry into the high-quality, high-finish sector, particularly suitable for short runs. With this digital press interfaced to Prinect's Workflow Production Manager, 3Graphic is able to control the profitability of the plant, manage resources efficiently and achieve a quantum leap in quality.

After consolidating its press equipment with a combined digital-offset workflow, 3Graphic continued its partnership with Heidelberg and invested in an MK Diana Easy 115 folder-gluer and an MK Promatrix 106 die-cutter.

As Rafa Borreda explains, "The trusted relationship with Heidelberg helps us make the right decision when considering a new investment. For us, each piece of equipment must fit perfectly into the balance of our ecosystem. The business advice provided by our Heidelberg partners, their professional technical service and their training programs have been instrumental each time we have started the process of considering a new investment. The packaging market forces us to face different challenges. The acquisition of this equipment has been essential in our project of modernization and adaptation to access new markets and be more competitive. We are very satisfied with Masterwork."

The Diana Easy 115 stands out for its fast and convenient set-up processes, a structure that facilitates operations for the machine operator and maximum quality standards. The machine can handle a wide range of materials and weights, which has proven essential for a company open to a wide variety of projects. In another area of finishing, the Promatrix installed at the Ontinyent plant is the first Masterwork flatbed die-cutter in Spain. This professional die-cutting equipment has a key function: it is an ideal tool to reduce production costs and save time, avoiding manual actions and generating a high level of OEE. The Promatrix, as well as all previous investments, have strengthened 3Graphic's position as a high performance industrial service provider in the packaging market.
