Owners of electric cars frequently complain about the lack of charging infrastructure. However, its provision often depends on accompanying measures such as planning, civil engineering, installation and connection of the charging facilities to the power grid. This is where a new collaboration between HEIDELBERG and DB Bahnbau Gruppe comes in. In future, both companies will offer the nationwide expansion of commercial and public charging infrastructure. This includes a comprehensive range of solutions from Amperfied, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, covering high-quality charging systems and their installation, a cloud-based backend and a rental model for charging infrastructure as well as operation and service. DB Bahnbau Gruppe brings expertise in planning and installation services to the table. The expertise of the two companies complements each other perfectly and covers the planning, installation and commissioning of wallboxes and charging stations throughout Germany. This is the first contract of its kind that DB Bahnbau Gruppe has signed with a charging infrastructure provider.
"Civil engineering and installation are the foundation for connecting our charge points to the power grid and thus enable the electrification of transport," says Davide Ghione, CEO of Amperfied GmbH. "We know that planning, installation and civil engineering pose many challenges, such as coordination with network operators, compliance with standards and regulations, the recruitment of qualified personnel and, last but not least, cost efficiency. We are therefore pleased to have DB Bahnbau Gruppe as a competent and experienced partner at our side to support us in the planning and implementation of our charging projects."
"With its expertise and experience in the fields of (cable) civil engineering and electromobility, DB Bahnbau Gruppe is in a position to competently and reliably complement Amperfied's innovative services and jointly expand the charging infrastructure in Germany on a large scale with the resulting one-stop offer," says Markus Egerer, CEO of DB Bahnbau Gruppe. "We would like to thank Amperfied for the trust they have placed in us and look forward to a successful partnership."
With the framework agreement with DB Bahnbau Gruppe, Amperfied is strengthening its position as a system provider for charging infrastructure. This is a decisive step for Amperfied, as the company has already expanded its offering beyond the traditional private customer market to include products such as the Wallbox connect.business for business customers and the AC charging station connect.public for public spaces.
The subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG operates nationwide as an infrastructure service provider, partner and consultant. With around 4,000 employees and 400 maintenance vehicles, it plans, builds and maintains infrastructure facilities, in particular railway infrastructure and railway transport services. DB Bahnbau Gruppe also specialises in recycling and alternative energy systems.
The installation services of the DB Bahnbau Gruppe are available to Amperfied customers immediately. Following Amperfied Rental, where charging infrastructure can be rented for a monthly fee, the partnership with the DB Bahnbau Gruppe is another example of how Amperfied is lowering the barriers to setting up commercial and public charging infrastructure and offering business customers a complete e-mobility solution.
