Application tips.

Letter, resume, what else?

What does an application look like? What do I need for it?

The quickest way to apply is online. This is easier for you and us to process.

We answer your questions.

When should I apply?

We recommend that you apply for the relevant position online approx. one year before the training begins - always in September of each year. For a dual study program, the application phase already begins in June/July of the year before the studies start.

How do I apply correctly?

We prefer online applications - that's easy to do and it is fastest way to success. Your attachments like Curriculum vitae and Covering Letter can be comfortably uploaded in all common formats.

Complete documents

We expect complete application documents from applicants. This includes:

  • Letter
  • Tabular resume
  • the two most recent school reports, and,
  • if applicable, internship certificates, references, etc.

The letter

The letter should be brief and accurate in content, i.e. typos and spelling mistakes as well as incorrect addresses or contact persons from an application to another company will be judged negatively and can sometimes be a deciding factor. The letter should be brief as it should above all spark an interest in the applicant and not present the entire resume. The letter should cover a maximum of one page.

The resume

The resume is now only created in tabular form - handwritten resumes are out - and must contain the following information:

1. Personal details

  • First name/surname
  • Date of birth
  • Family status
  • Parents and any siblings

2. Education

Period at the school as well as the school’s exact name and location

3. Professional career

Gapless listing of previous employment relationships or internships, specifying the exact company name, location and periods of employment

4. Other training and further education

Any training and further education that is professionally beneficial should be listed here.

5. Hobbies

Hobbies say a lot about a person - but do not list too many hobbies and only include the main ones - otherwise, you could give the impression that leisure time is more important than your career.

What happens next?

The aptitude test.

One of the criteria for selecting future trainees or students is the online test. Once your complete application has reached us, you will receive an e-mail containing a link to the online test. Depending on the choice of profession or study program, the test takes between 75 and 120 minutes. It can be paused for a break at your discretion.

The interview.

If you make the shortlist, you will be invited for an interview. Final selection is determined by the interview. The main focus is on the applicant’s personality, commitment, motivation and skills. The interview is the most important selection criterion. Applicants should therefore prepare conscientiously, wear appropriate clothing and arrive on-time.

As a general rule: If you cannot come to your appointment or do not wish to purse your application further, it is good manners to inform the company of this as soon as possible.
