Nina Koch talks confidently about her career at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG). Koch started her training as an IT specialist at the global market leader in 2009. Her career aspirations were solidified during a student internship in the purchasing section at HEIDELBERG, after which she was taken on in Internal Sales in the Industrial Customer Business division. Even then, the focus of her work shifted more and more towards marketing and went hand in hand with the company's entry into the electromobility market. She was therefore instrumental in the birth of the Wallbox. This is a charging device for electric cars that has since been further developed and successfully placed on the market by AMPERFIED GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of HEIDELBERG.

The next few years showed that family and a professional career can be reconciled. Koch returned to work in July 2020 after taking around 21 months off for maternity and parental leave. The new product brand "AMPERFIED" was founded in 2022 and Nina Koch also played a key role in its development. Initially working alone, she continuously built up the marketing department at AMPERFIED during this time and is now the line manager of five employees, as well as a further four employees in internal sales. Lifelong learning pays off. In order to meet the demands of her new role, Koch completed further training to become an online marketing manager and another to become a design manager, both of which took several months of in-service training through the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. She describes her tasks as a manager as diverse and varied. Without the ability to organize her working hours extremely flexibly, she would not be able to balance her family and career as a full-time employee.

"I never planned to make a career out of it," says Nina Koch, and continues, "Doors always open up and eventually you realize where your strengths lie. Especially when you have been trained and are employed by a large company like HEIDELBERG and have the opportunity to get to know very different areas or have the chance to open up a new, innovative market segment. Believe in yourselves and your abilities" is her advice to young people. It is important to have the courage to try new things and to remain curious.
