With a minimum fold length of 20mm, the Stahlfolder Ti 36 is the specialist for small formats and miniature folding applications such as mini booklets or packaging inserts for pharmaceutical products. The Stahlfolder Ti 52 meets your customers’ requirements in the 50x70 format range with a wide variety of folding applications right through to multiple gluing operations.

Or take advantage of the benefits of both machines. Combining the Stahlfolder Ti 52 and Stahlfolder Ti 36 in a customized configuration gives you greater flexibility and allows you to also offer miniature folds in the medium-size format range. The machine is also easy to operate thanks to the clear control system with graphical symbols and a learning mode.

1. Feeder

Suitable feeder systems for any requirement

Flat pile feeder
The Fi flat pile feeder is especially suitable for small to medium runs and frequent job changes. The sheet separation by Airwing blowers and the sheet separator stand for high process reliability: The separated sheets are transferred by the two hole-suction wheel with PU coating to the alignment table reliably. The ball rail with prism rule secures an optimum sheet alignment and transfer to the first folding unit even with difficult landscape formats.

Round continuous feeder
The Ri round continuous feeder is designed for nonstop-operation and is suitable for larger circulations. It works continuously and without interrupting production thus increasing the daily production by more than 15 % compared to the flat pile feeder. Even sensible papers and pre-folded, pre-perforated or creased signatures can be processed.

2. Digital control system CCT

Clear control with graphic symbols and functions

The control panel is located in the center of the feeder, by means of which all functions of the folder can be controlled and supervised. The operation of the complete machine network is done easily via a graphic surface with step-by-step-symbols and direct keys. Special functions like learning mode and counter enlarge the operation of the machine and make it easier to operate.

The Stahlfolder Ti folding machines can be operated as controlled production by image recognition from top and bottom. Various glue applications like center, multiple and auxiliary gluing increase the added value and give you the chance to enlarge your product range.

4. Folding units

Buckle plate units and knife fold units for modular configuration

The Stahlfolder Ti folding machines can be configured individually of buckle plate stations and knife fold units in the working widths 36 cm and 52 cm. The first buckle plate unit of the Stahlfolder Ti 52 can be configured with 4 or 6, the second buckle plate unit with 4 buckle plate units. The Stahlfolder Ti 36 is basically equipped with 6 buckle plate units. The additional knife fold units KBi 36, KBi 52, and VFZ 52 offer further fold types.

5. Folding rollers

Top folding accuracy and mark-free sheet guidance: the right folding roller technology for precise folding results

ExtraGrip folding roller technology
The distribution of steel and polyurethane rings of the ExtraGrip folding rollers is designed in such a way that there is no crossover of steel segments with two folding rollers lying parallel. At the same time the drag force is essentially raised due to the number of polyurethane rings which was increased by approx. 30 % per folding roller. The effect: The rings work exactly in paper running direction so that excellent fold accuracy and an exact straightforward guidance of the signatures is achieved. ExtraGrip folding rollers are available in two variants: as soft-PU-ExtraGrip folding roller they cover a wide range of various papers above 50 g/m², in hard-PU-version they are most suitable for the processing of light weight paper.

6. Buckle plates

Various buckle plates like buckle plates with swing deflector, combination buckle plates or gatefold buckle plates offer maximum flexibility

In standard version the Stahlfolder Ti folding machines are supplied with buckle plates with swing deflector. Optionally combination buckle plates are available for the Stahlfolder Ti 52, which can be easily and conveniently converted into sheet turnouts without downtime.

Gate fold buckle plate
The pneumatic gate fold buckle plate allows for a high number of cycles of up to 15.000 cycles per hour with constant high fold quality. The digital control unit ACC 2.4 controls the switching points of the pneumatic gate fold buckle plate precisely, individually and independent from fold speed. The pneumatic gate fold buckle plate allows for fold lengths of 6.5 centimeters.

7. Slitter shafts

Rear-mounted slitter shafts, holding versatile creasing, perforating and cutting tools

The Stahlfolder Ti folding machines are standard equipped with a pair of rear-mounted slitter shafts with plug connection. This enables you to do creasing, perforating and cutting jobs in the folder. It increases fold quality and allows for a multi-up processing.

The complete Heidelberg delivery portfolio can be combined with Stahlfolder Ti folding machines. Especially the SA, SAF, SAL and SAK stream deliveries, as well as the STA 40 miniature fold delivery.
