The single print deck consists of one printing unit with anilox cylinder, chambered doctor blade, impression cylinder, guide roller and hot-air dryers. Double and non-stop print decks are based on this design.
A double print deck consists of two print units, which means that two colors can be applied immediately after one another. Hot air interdeck or uv-dryers make sure that print quality is stable.
A Boardmaster needed to process eight colors can be fitted with either 8 single print decks or 4 double print decks, reducing machine length and the required web path for easier handling.
Just as with double print decks, the non-stop print decks also contain two print units. The big time and money saving difference is that while one unit is printing, the other one in the same print deck, can be prepared for the next job without having to stop the press.
Once the sleeves, checked by Intellimatch, are inserted in the non-printing unit, a job change is done only by pushing a button. That’s what we call the “flying job change”.
