L’Imprimeur Simon focuses on automation with investment in a Polar PACE 200 system with AirGo Jog

L’Imprimeur Simon, based in Ornans in the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté region in eastern France, invested in a Polar PACE 200 cutting system with AirGo Jog in 2025. This family-owned company, with a long-standing tradition, offers a full range of printing services—from graphic design and offset and digital printing to finishing—and also delivers internationally, including to Switzerland. Particular emphasis is placed on sustainable production and the manufacture of high-quality brochures.

With this new cutting technology, L’Imprimeur Simon aims to make finishing operations more efficient and ergonomic. The AirGo Jog system enables autonomous loading and jogging of paper stacks. Automatic loading onto the rear table of the guillotine, along with automated rotation, cutting, and palletizing via the Transomat unloader, significantly reduces the physical workload for operators.

Ergonomics and quality at the heart of their priorities

François Simon explains:

“AirGo Jog significantly improves ergonomics at the cutting station. Physical strain is reduced, and operators can focus more on monitoring and control tasks. This makes the profession more attractive and encourages greater attention to correct jogging program setup.”

Cut quality also benefits from automation:

“The alignment quality of the stacks is comparable to that achieved by an experienced operator who takes the time to do the job properly. The system ensures consistent quality while relieving operators of manual paper feeding.”

Productivity and organization of the workflow

The average processing time per stack is around three minutes. For materials heavier than 135 g/m², processing is even faster and more efficient. While the machine does not fully replace the operator, it frees up valuable time for other tasks.

François Simon adds:

“While the AirGo Jog is running, the operator can prepare production sheets or load and unload new pallets. This contributes to better workflow organization.”

With this investment, L’Imprimeur Simon reaffirms its commitment to producing high-quality printed materials efficiently and sustainably, supported by modern technology and skilled staff.
