The C.P. Bourg Booklet Maker is a highly flexible finishing solution for the automated production of brochures, booklets, and manuals. It was developed to bridge the gap between fast digital printing and efficient finishing.

Its outstanding strength lies in its flexibility, as it can be operated seamlessly with leading digital printing presses either inline (directly connected) or nearline (as a separate unit). This enables you to process print jobs from various sources and optimally control the utilization of your machines.

The C.P. Bourg Booklet Maker is the most user-friendly system on the market, designed for producing high-quality saddle stitching, top stitching, or corner stitching.

Output Conveyor

  • Collects the finished booklet(s)  

 

Feeder

  • Supplied by Jetfire or other printing press(es)
  • Inline/nearline or dual mode operation
  • Enables hybrid production by loading the two compartments differently
  • Dual barcode scanning enables automatic adjustment of the system based on a predefined program sequence

Square Edge

  • Form the square spine of the booklet
  • “Rectangular” spine enables better stacking of products
  • Up to 60 sheets can be processed (depending on substrate thickness)
  • Trims the side of the brochure

Booklet Maker

  • Assembles the brochure, staples, and performs final folding
  • Operator panel enables guided configuration of production using the graphical interface
  • Collects and punches the brochure (2 or 4 staples possible)
  • Saddle back fold of the brochure possible

Bourg Prep. Modul

  • Performs operations from the feeder (rotate, trim, micro-perforate, crease, cut, or fold)
  • Enables a 2-up or 4-up configuration
  • Prevents fiber breaks by creasing for the upcoming folding
  • Perforation to reduce air in thicker brochures

C.P. Bourg's modular concept offers great flexibility and leaves options open for the future. Basic configurations can be expanded later by installing additional modules. Furthermore, the Jetfire 50 and Versafire printing systems allow you to integrate multiple processing functions into a single production line for offline, nearline, or inline processing.

Adhesive-bound brochures in 2-up production with three-sided trimming

Highly efficient production of adhesive bindings in variable thicknesses is carried out in double-use (2-up) mode, either with PUR or cost-efficient EVA hot melt. The dual adhesive system enables hybrid gluing, in which the combination of PUR spine and EVA side gluing ensures maximum durability with immediate stability. Finally, an integrated three-knife trimmer guarantees precise all-round trimming at the top, bottom, and front.

Adhesive-bound brochures in 4-up production

Highly efficient production of adhesive-bound brochures in variable formats and thicknesses – achieved in productive 4-up mode. The dual adhesive system offers maximum flexibility through the use of PUR or EVA hot melt as well as the option of hybrid combination gluing. For a perfect finish, the line can be optionally expanded with a three-knife trimmer for precise all-round trimming.
