Speedmaster XL 106-6+L LE UV. The new flagship press opens up new opportunities in terms of material choice and inline finishing – and also cuts CO2 by 60 percent.
“Our new Speedmaster XL 106 with LE UV technology has opened up several new opportunities for us. We can now print on all types of film and other non-absorbent materials. Our print results on uncoated and recycled paper are particularly impressive. We can deliver superb color brilliance, razor-sharp definition, and far greater depth. Even on the uncoated papers that are increasingly being used, we can deliver much higher quality than conventional offset,” says Production Manager Hauke Beisner, reflecting on the advantages of his new flagship press. “Another key point for us is that the XL 106 has cut CO2 emissions by up to 60 percent and also enables ozone-free, low-odor production,” adds Sales and Marketing Manager Helge Beisner.
The family-run company was founded in Hamburg in 1924, moving to its current site in Buchholz in 1991. Beisner has been expanding ever since – it now has a workforce of 63 and produces high-quality, surface-finished print products including annual reports, magazines, brochures, and books for high-profile companies in the technology, cosmetics, and jewelry sectors. The print shop offers its customers a one-stop service – covering prepress complete with graphic design, printing, finishing, and even logistics for the finished product.
Alongside the new XL 106 with LE UV, Beisner uses a number of other Heidelberg presses, including a Speedmaster XL 106 five-color with coating unit installed in 2012. All presses are equipped with the Prinect Inpress Control inline measuring and control system for color and register. “We are highly satisfied with the technology and with the ‘Heidelberg’ package as a whole. The high quality, good service, and high availability are all crucial to us. On one of our presses, we’ve been able to achieve 6 million prints in 3 shifts in just 15 days. Only Speedmaster can do that. We’re unbeatable – because we work with our Speedmaster presses as a team!” says Hauke Beisner.
