“On our Speedmaster SM 74, we needed up to 150 sheets until the OK sheet. That’s now been reduced to 20 to 40 sheets with our Anicolor,” explains Martin Meneses Rivero, owner of Hermenca in La Paz, Bolivia. “The Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor is saving us a lot of time and materials, and of course that translates into money. We did an experiment one time: 80 plates, 20 jobs, in 1 hour and 38 minutes. But it’s not just the short makeready times that have impressed us – also impeccable and stable. Our complete printing process is standardized and interconnected. This means that we can give our customers uniformly high, reproducible print quality, both now and in the future. This is very important, especially for repeat jobs. And our customers are not the only fans. Our operators are extremely impressed by how easy the machine is to use,” continues Martin Meneses Rivero.
Hermenca based in La Paz, Bolivia, at an altitude of 3.28 ft. above sea level, produces commercial products as well as packaging and Labels. The family-run company, now in its third generation and with a staff of 100, is run by Fernando Meneses Paz and his son, Martin Meneses. The fourth generation is already waiting in the wings. Hermenca offers live printing sessions and very soon Web-to-Print will also be part of their offerings.
“At first we weren’t sure whether we would encounter problems, since we’re the only print shop in the world to be using this machine at such a high altitude. But there’s absolutely no Problem between,” says Martin Meneses Rivero. “The trend is towards declining run lengths and shorter delivery times. The Anicolor technology is a perfect fit for this. I can depend totally on our equipment and the Saphira consumables from Heidelberg, which gives me the peace of mind to be able to concentrate on running and growing my business.”
