Mega Image in Slough has chosen to buy a Polar N78 Plus guillotine from Heidelberg UK because it believes it will provide the right quality of cut and the long-term reliability required to ensure its customers get their orders on time, every time. The new machine will be delivered in December.
The company has set up at the start of 2015 in Ealing but a move to the Slough Trading Estate positioned alongside 500 other businesses has been good for trade and the company is handling three times the volume of work it was two years ago.
Mega Image produces a very wide range of commercial print including raffle tickets, NCR pads, luxury and business stationery, leaflets, posters, presentation folders, notebooks, roll up banners, promotional items and stickers. It runs with two Roland wide format machines and two Xerox digital presses as well as six Morgana machines.
“We had an EBA 55 and we did look at the EBA 72 which would have been an acceptable size. But the Polar is known for its reliability,” says Leonard Ceausu, managing director of the company. “Every day our guillotine is in use and it must perform consistently well now and in the years to come. We know the Polar N78 Plus will do that and its programmability will be critical to maximising throughput.”
The cutting quality of the Polar and its ability to cut through different stocks (80gsm for invoice pads up to 540gsm for some business cards) was vital in his decision-making.
The Polar N78 Plus high speed guillotine features an 18.5inch colour display with touchscreen operation. The cutting width is 780mm and the feed depth is also 780mm.
By using the right materials and having an eye for detail Mr Ceausu believes Mega Image can offer a quality that is above 90% of printers in the UK. He knows that first impressions count and he wants users, from start ups and small businesses to the largest, to have confidence in the results his company can offer.
