Peter Smith
Heidelberg is strengthening its sales team with the appointment of Peter Smith as the first ever Irish Prinect and Consumables Representative.
He will work closely with Frontline Representative Declan Martin and Finishing Representative Chris Bann. Peter will also be supported by the consumables technical team which includes a chemist and press demonstrators to assist in product trials, colour management and application support. Dave Naylor, Prinect Specialist for Heidelberg, and product managers Chris Matthews (digital products) and Paul Chamberlain (Prinect products) will also support Peter in his new role.
Heidelberg also has a strong base of engineers in Ireland, all employed rather than freelance as well as Helpdesk and remote support services.
“Our Irish business has grown and we have reached a point where we needed to add to our sales team and to give more focus on the Prinect workflow and extensive consumables range,” says Phil Buttress, northern sales manager. “This has been a consideration for some time but has become a reality now that we had the right fit with Peter Smith.”
Peter Smith joins from another consumables company where he had been employed for 20 years.
“Heidelberg is a blue chip, prestige company and it great to have the level of back up it can offer and the huge portfolio of graphic arts equipment, consumables and workflows,” says Peter Smith. “I am very excited by the bundled deal concept; many buyers invest in equipment repaying as they draw off consumables and in instalments that reflect work levels so ironing out the trading peaks and troughs. I also like the concept of dry sheet technology and the fact we can offer a retrofit service with the various UV options. I have been in graphic arts since I left school and I still love print and all the various products that it can generate – books, newspapers etc.”
