Culverlands switches to Heidelberg for CtP

02/12/2016

Culverlands is replacing a Kodak Magnus with a Heidelberg Suprasetter this week.

“We are replacing an older device with a current CtP system which we know will reliably output 22 plates an hour,” says Stephen Edwards, managing director. “Our operators welcome the move and from a business point of view it will reduce the risk of press downtime. With its lower energy usage, the Suprasetter will also give us a cost and environmental advantage.”

The chem-free plates produced will feed a pressroom that includes a Speedmaster XL 75-5+L with Inpress Control 2 and Autoplate Pro installed last autumn and a SM 74-5P+L and a SM52-5. The company already has Pressroom Manager and it is considering switching from Prinergy to Prinect Prepress Manager in the future which it would link to the Tharstern Primo MIS. It is already very JDF-minded.

Based in Winchester and in operation since 1949, the 30 strong business prides itself of offering a high quality and bespoke service. It draws in work from the south coast, London and around the UK as well as local contracts and its client list includes well known cosmetics and chocolate companies.
