Guernsey company anticipates CtP and Prepress Manager delivery

07/07/2016

Colour Monster is taking delivery of a new Suprasetter A75 CtP device and prepress workflow from Heidelberg UK this month.

“With our ever growing client base we needed an upgrade of our entire prepress workflow. The new system will be more reliable and efficient with a much larger capacity, meaning we can speed up the entire prepress process,” says Damian Lacey, managing director.

“The new and improved Prinect Prepress Manager software being added will be easier to use and will speed up our prepress time. The two prepress operators are looking forward to the Heidelberg training at the time of installation.”

Based in Guernsey, Colour Monster handles a very broad range of work from a few business cards to a 100,000 run brochure. Prepress Manager - which is a package that includes impositioning, preflighting and all the elements needed to prepare files and deliver them digitally to press - will be linked to the company’s two litho presses, a Speedmaster SM 74 and SM 52.

A large percentage of Colour Monster’s work is from within Guernsey, the remainder comes from Jersey or other neighbouring islands.

“Being on an island means we really do have to handle everything thrown at us which is why we have both litho and digital technology and extensive finishing,” says Mr Lacey.

Heidelberg has always had a good relationship with printers on the islands around Great Britain because its support services are second to none in the industry.
