Polar is the REAL deal

06/04/2016

REAL Digital has taken delivery of a Polar N115 Plus with comprehensive materials handling that includes a Transomat downloader, lifter and jogger.

“This cutting line replaces a larger Polar 155 and is a format which better suits the size of paper we are handling day to day,” says managing director David Laybourne. “The materials handling we have specified gives us 15-20% higher productivity and reduces manual handling which means less strain on the operators.”

The company has proved very successful by offering paper and e-based fulfilment services or interactive projects to specific sectors including retail, mobile, healthcare and financial services. Handling a broad range of materials from DM to packaging and PoS, its guillotines have to be robust and adaptable.

“Our new guillotine will operate on a two shift system, normally about 20 hours a day. The Polar make is the best and these guillotines work well in our environment and for the work we handle,” says Mr Laybourne. “We are one of the biggest Heidelberg finishing sites, almost a showcase.”

The investment-minded business will be well represented at Drupa. It likes to constantly enhance its production, to have the best and most efficient equipment. This year it has a capital expenditure budget of £1.5-2m and the Dusseldorf exhibition, which runs from 31 May to 10 June, may provide inspiration for current and future spending.
