Linoprint CP arrives at Barclay’s Print this week

06/10/2015

Three years on from buying its first digital press from Heidelberg, Barclay’s Print has returned for a Linoprint CP, the high speed 130 page per minute model.

Managing director David Amos is clear about the sagacity of the buying decision: “We like the ability of the Linoprint CP to print on thicker material and on textured surfaces and the facility to print larger sheet sizes, including six A4 page work. The machine will be even more robust and reliable and the quality is another step up with minimal risk of banding. The click rate is lower which will affect the breakpoint between litho and digital but it’s too early to say where that will be in terms of run length.”

The press has been installed this week and staff are undertaking three days’ training although there is great confidence in it being a very easy transition. The C901 will overlap by about a week before being shipped out.

“We are loyal Heidelberg customers and we like to be at the forefront of technology. If you stand still you die so you have to keep up and to offer customers great solutions. Most end users leave it to us whether a job is printed litho or digital but trade customers often specify. Today about 75% of our turnover is still litho but the digital work is continuing to grow,” says Mr Amos.

The company has built its reputation on high quality and exemplary client services. It even has a Print Resource Service Centre, providing free advice and technical support to clients, designers and specifiers, enabling them to produce better products and to find optimum ways of creating a specific result. The Leyton based plant serves a UK wide client base. Barclay’s Print holds ISO14001 Environmental Management, FSC and Carbon Smart Blue certifications.
