Read the interview of Bilal Mahmood, the young Installations Coordinator of Heidelberg UK.

What is your current job title?

My designation is ‘Installations Coordinator’.

What exactly do you do at our company?

As Installations Coordinator, it’s my job to help arrange the people, equipment, and logistics needed. That includes the engineers, training, lifting equipment parts and consumables for installations of Heidelberg presses, digital machines, post-press units, pre-press units, and software.

What drew you to Heidelberg UK originally?

The office is set in the midst of natural surroundings and beautiful premises. Besides, it’s located very close to my home, and that’s convenient!

In your time at Heidelberg UK, what has been your favorite project?

We had a double installation at Paragon of 2 x presses (a 10-colour and a 6-colour). I’d consider this my favourite as it was my first and I was able to visit the site during the actual installation. This gave me a detailed insight into the installation process.

What aspects of our purpose do you identify with?

We offer multi-colour printing and we live in a multi-cultural city! That’s quite interesting to me. Besides, we’re seeing the streamlining and automation of the printing industry. It’s wonderful to helm this modernisation.

What is it about you that most folks don’t know?

I can speak five languages – Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi.

What would you eat if you had to eat only one meal every day for the rest of your life?

Wagyu Steak with roast potatoes.

What is one thing you cannot live without?

I know the correct answer is my heart, or my brain – but in reality, it’s my phone!
