Young Talent @Heidelberg UK - Lawrence O'Donoghue & Kit – Cameron Marwa

14/10/2020

In this edition of Employee Spotlight, we introduce you to two young and vibrant members of our Inside Sales team. Let’s get to know them!

1. What is your role at Heidelberg?

Kit
My role at Heidelberg is to reduce contact points with the customer and achieve fluidity across all areas of service and sales, formally known as Inside Sales Representative.
Lawrence
At Heidelberg, I am a part of the Inside Sales Team.

2. Before working at Heidelberg, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Kit
The most interesting job I’ve had before was working at my local football club, Watford FC, at the age of 16. I was stationed on the kiosk serving match day pies and drinks. Needless to say, I met all sorts of people!
Lawrence
I have had a few jobs over the years, not many of them being interesting or unusual! But I enjoyed my time working as a telecom and datacentre engineer at Credit Suisse and Ofcom, which then paved the way for me to move into a telecoms sales role.

3. How did you first learn about Heidelberg?

Kit
I first learned of Heidelberg when I was quite young. There is a famous movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks called ‘Catch Me If You Can’, which mentions one of Heidelberg’s printers used in the film.
Lawrence
I moved to Brentford six years ago and passed the Heidelberg building on a daily basis without knowing what it was. Then, one day, I decided to look it up and find out what the machines in the window were meant for!

4. What do you like most about Heidelberg?

Kit
What I love most about Heidelberg is its people! Everyone is so welcoming, and I’m surrounded by great resources with 20+ years of industry expert knowledge. Simply knowing that I have this support structure around me makes me feel confident whenever I step into the office.
Lawrence
So far, the people! Everyone I’ve met has been helpful and offering some advice, generally as they have worked here for 20 years! I have found the environment very supportive and welcoming.

5. If you had to describe Heidelberg in three words, how would you do it?

Kit
Efficient, Powerful and Secure.
Lawrence
Printing Efficiency Mastered!

6. Tell us a little about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Kit
I’m passionate about music, travel and fitness. I like to go to concerts when I have spare time but, given the current climate, I haven’t been to any this year. During the lockdown, I became a run-addict. This is motivating me to plan and train for a half-marathon through which I can raise money for dementia research.
Lawrence
I enjoy gardening; growing my own vegetables as well as cooking and eating them! I like cycling and running and have recently also started kayaking in the Grand Union Canal and the Thames. I like to go out to eat and socialise as well and look forward to being able to go to the theatre and concerts again!
