Graphiscan Montréal Increases Overall Margin and Grows Packaging Department with New Heidelberg Postpress

07/06/2017

Graphiscan of Montréal Canada plans to grow their packaging department and increase their overall margin with the Easymatrix 106 CS diecutter from Heidelberg.

Control Jobs from A-Z

The new Easymatrix 106 CS diecutter runs alongside an existing five-color with coater, Speedmaster CD 102. By installing the Easymatrix 106 CS, Graphiscan eliminated outsourcing work to trade shops –allowing them to increase overall margin.

“You can control your jobs from A to Z,” said Denis Gagnon, President of Graphiscan. “We no longer have to ship sheets to and from trade shops, which saves us valuable time and keeps profit and labor within Graphiscan.”

Processing boards as thick as 78 pt. thick with a 29.4” x 41.7” format at speeds up to 7,700 sheets per hour, the Easymatrix 106 CS is larger than most diecutters in its class. The Easymatrix 106 CS is able to handle output directly from the Speedmaster CD 102, which allows Graphiscan to produce high volumes of full-sized diecutting jobs.

“Packaging currently represents 25% of our business,” said Gagnon. “We think that the Easymatrix 106 is the critical finishing piece to enable packaging to become half of our total business in the next few years.”

We Deliver What We Promise

Graphiscan evaluated overall value of the machine when deciding how to make their die cutter investment. The Easymatrix 106 CS offers easy user interface and stable performance from feeder to delivery, which is desirable to the operators at Graphiscan.

“The speed, sturdiness and quality are the same as those of more expensive competitive models,” said Gagnon.

Another factor that led to the investment of the Easymatrix 106 CS was the fact that it was a Heidelberg machine. Since Heidelberg offers local French-speaking support and second-level French-speaking support from the US headquarters in Kennesaw, Graphiscan can always rely on Heidelberg to give them the support they need.

“With the help of Easymatrix 106 and Heidelberg,” said Gagnon, “we can deliver what we promise.”
