The Promatrix 106 CS is the first product sold and supported by Heidelberg and manufactured by its new strategic partner Masterwork (MK).
Kennesaw, Ga., – Heidelberg’s Promatrix 106 CS die cutter will make its U.S. debut at Graph Expo in Chicago next month. This is the first opportunity to see our cost-efficient, automated die cutting machine in the Masterwork Machinery exhibit (Booth #857).
The Promatrix 106 CS can handle substrates from 65 lb. text to 48 pt. board. It outputs 8,000 sheets per hour, and has a maximum sheet size of 29.92x41.7 inches, matching the format of Heidelberg’s flagship Speedmaster XL 106 press.
Short set-up times are the result of smart automation and intelligent operator support, as well as:

The Promatrix 106 CS is the first product sold and supported by Heidelberg and manufactured by its new strategic partner Masterwork (MK). Late last year, Heidelberg announced MK as a partner for further development of its postpress packaging product portfolio. MK, the largest manufacturer of die cutters worldwide, provides an innovative product portfolio that surpasses traditional cutters and folding carton gluers. The MK Duopress series features two platen stations in one machine, enabling embossing/foil-stamping and die cutting in one pass. The company also has developed high-end blank inspection systems for offline or inline use on a folding carton gluer. These enable print defect detection as well as inspection of holographic images or embossing depth.
The Promatrix CS 106 is a further development of an existing MK platform, along with additional improvements and certifications (such as “GS,” a German seal denoting safe operation), and will be sold, supported and serviced exclusively by Heidelberg—just like all Heidelberg Diana Smart and Diana X folding carton gluers.
