The low-energy UV process from Heidelberg is continuing its success story in Switzerland. A print shop in the Berne region has only recently ordered a Speedmaster SX 52-5+L LE UV. The production company often prints motifs with strong colors on uncoated papers with relatively high grammages. LE UV is ideal for these requirements.
Following the first Speedmaster SX 52-5+L LE UV for Engelberger Druck AG, a second press of the same model will start operating in the Berne region in early summer.
Print sheets are dry on leaving the press and can go straight to postpress without any risk of rubbing. The virtually powder-free printing process is also beneficial for postpress operations. Instant curing stops ink penetrating into the paper fibers, and print results are more brilliant with enhanced depth. Up till now, the company has been printing on a four-color press. Thanks to the coating unit on the new Speedmaster SX 52 LE UV, the print shop will further boost its service portfolio by offering its customers print products with full-area or spot matt, gloss, and textured effects.
When making its investment decision, the company wasn't concerned about the higher ink and coating costs. In its view, fast, risk-free finishing, energy savings, the ability also to process non-absorbent materials, and the improved personalization possibilities in digital printing more than compensate. The Speedmaster SX 52-5+L LE UV will enter into service in June.
