Based on Sheetfed Control, the patented, decentralized control platform from Heidelberg, the Prinect Press Center Compact combines press operation with remote ink and register control in a central console. Users can keep track of the printing process and the activation/deactivation of printing, dampening, inking and coating units. It is also possible to preset the printing speed, record OK sheets and waste, control sheet travel and regulate dryer settings as well as the volumes of blast and suction air.
In addition to providing a more convenient way of working, straightforward control unit operation also results in greater efficiency when processing print jobs. The Prinect Press Center Compact systematically harnesses all available potential to radically minimize the time spent on each print job while also ensuring the required print quality. For example, all the system's job and presetting data for the press can be adopted at the job preparation stage through a few simple touches on the exceptionally user-friendly 19-inch touchscreen monitor. The new standard daylight lamp ensures excellent illumination and combined with a generously proportioned sheet deposit area creates the ideal environment for monitoring results.
The Prinect Press Center Compact is the interface to the Prinect workflow. Networking makes it possible to retrieve job data at any time, adopt presetting data and initiate processes. Users can also obtain an overview of all outstanding print jobs just as quickly thanks to transparent job scheduling on the monitor. The fact that the Prinect Press Center Compact provides the management information system (MIS) and Prinect Pressroom Manager with shop floor data on all current status ensures that production data reports are always up to date.
The innovative, process-oriented Intellistart navigation system significantly boosts Speedmaster productivity. While one job is being processed, the next is being prepared. The use of all relevant information relating to the current job and the next one means that 70 percent fewer steps are needed to set up the press for the subsequent job. Depending on the number of jobs and their complexity, annual production capacities can be increased by up to eight percent.
The interaction between the control station and Easy Control, the color measuring and control system ensures effective integration. The system is perfectly coordinated with the Prinect Press Center Compact. Setting data is adopted directly and the measuring results supplied can be used immediately for fast inking up and register setting, as well as to correct any deviations from reference values.
