“Plate changes in three minutes instead of ten, 40 percent higher production speed, and shorter job change times – at the end of the day, that all boils down to more jobs per shift and greater profitability,” says Mamoun Kotob, Managing Director of Al Shurook, summing up the latest investment in the Speedmaster XL 105-6+L, equipped with UV technology. Installed in 2012, the press has already printed more than 126 million sheets. Equipped with AutoPlate and Prinect Inpress Control, it offers significantly reduced makeready times. “The press delivers excellent productivity with virtually no downtimes, and our job changes take no more than 10 to 15 minutes.
The existing equipment – a Speedmaster CD 102-5 and five-color Speedmaster XL 105 – was expanded in 2012 with the Speedmaster XL 105-6+L UV and a Speedmaster SM 52-5+L, also equipped with UV technology. This broad range of press configurations enables Al Shurook and his 120 employees to serve the best in the challenging packaging markets. Customers primarily from the food and detergent sectors can utilize the complete process chain from prepress to postpress.
Founded in 1989, Al Shurook is experiencing rapid development on the packaging market in particular. “Customers want increasingly sophisticated solutions, and this is something we’re responding to,” explains Kotob. “We’re looking to explore all options and constantly expand our range of materials.” To meet these aims, he invests in Heidelberg and its leading technology, consistently high quality, and top productivity. “A Speedmaster is a system that retains its value,” adds Mohamed Kotob.
