Since 1978, the Tomás Hermanos print shop in the center of Spain has been on site for its customers when it comes to the production of flyers and brochures, posters, magazines and catalogs as well as all types of business stationery. And since Corona, the range of products has expanded even further, for example with signs and markings for safety regulations. The pressroom therefore features two Speedmaster CD 74-5-LF and Speedmaster 52-2 presses, a Versafire EV and a POLAR 92 . A Suprasetter A75 DTL has recently been added to the product portfolio. But that's not all: Tomás Hermanos have converted their workflow to Prinect Production - not easy in times of COVID-19 one might think, especially since Spain is one of the countries in Europe most affected by the virus. "We are a commercial print shop in the heart of the country and I am happy to say that we have experienced practically no restrictions from the Corona crisis with regard to our cooperation with Heidelberg. In these difficult times, we have worked side by side with Heidelberg Spain and managed to successfully complete the installation of Prinect Production," says Juan Carlos Tomás, Production Manager at Tomás Hermanos.
The next step has also already been taken: with Prinect Business, Tomás Hermanos will soon be using an integrated management information system (MIS). Of course, the current situation also needs to be taken into account: "For the introduction of Prinect Business, we work from the print shop and the Heidelberg technicians work from a distance from other cities. This worked perfectly: even when there was a total infrastructure failure in the country, the connection to the servers was up and running and we were able to continue with the implementation of Prinect Business".
And so Juan Carlos is convinced that the company made the best possible use of the lockdown period: "We are now even better prepared to deal with this crisis.”
