EVC Graphic Design & Print is to be an early adopter of Speedmaster SX 74 technology and the first in the UK to opt for a six-colour configuration.
This high quality promotional literature producer regularly uses special colours and the sixth will be a dedicated sealing unit, preferred over the coating unit because it is more compact and fits better in the Reading facility.
Chairman Raymond Curtis says: "We heard about the Speedmaster SX technology at the end of last year. Managing director Simon Parr and minder Steve Bullion went to Germany to see the new press and were so impressed, reporting that it could be of significant benefit to the pressroom and put us ahead of our competitors. We believe it will give us at least 20% more productivity over the SM 74-6 it replaces because of the clever Intellistart software and the new feed table and perfect jacket technology."
EVC handles promotional brochures, leaflets and direct mail for a nationwide client base which includes financial, government, manufacturing, high tech and local sectors. It works with just one respected print management company as well as direct with end users.
"We looked at other options but we have never had any downtime with Heidelberg, the resale value is good. Heidelberg is the Mercedes Benz of print. They give you sensible answers and effective support. We trust them," says Mr Curtis.
EVC offers an intelligent, consultative print supply service with an emphasis on time-sensitive supply. It is FSC certified.
