Heidelberg ISO 12647-2 Certification
In early 2010, Heidelberg decided to offer its customers a certification to the ISO 12647-2 print standard. This has proved extremely popular with both our customers and the industry as a whole, and has raised the bar in terms of print quality and understanding amongst its users.
Heidelberg ISO Certification is a certification program that meets the requirements of the ISO 12647-2 standard. It involves a comprehensive and challenging program of education and equipment optimisation. Ultimately, it is a demanding print test involving the production of a 'perfect' ok sheet, along with a production run of 4,000 sheets as well as digital proofs.
Sheets are first examined on site by the Heidelberg UK PCM Specialist, and secondly in our colour laboratory in Heidelberg Germany. They are checked against the strict criteria of the ISO 12647-2 standard, with the stringent analysis of homogenous inking, solid colour values, dot gain, fit, register and dot reproduction quality, all over the sheet and throughout the run. All measurements are made under the conditions specified in the ISO 12647-2 standard (and normative references).
Customers are then invited to send sheets into Heidelberg UK at six monthly intervals for periodic checks and verification. This is further supported by an annual on-site visit.
The certification is valid for two years and would be renewed with a repeat of the entire process.
