Speedmaster XL 105-6+L and Speedmaster XL 145-6+L, both with UV. This premium-quality commercial print shop has built its success on being able to produce top-quality commercial products quickly and cost-effectively.
“We used our Speedmaster XL 145-6+L to print 600,000 sheets, that’s 1,200,000 sheet sides, for a 12-page A4 brochure ordered by a premium car manufacturer. It was produced inline in 4c and finished with UV matt coating and spot UV gloss coating in just 120 hours. What an achievement!” Hendrik Heidenreich is proud of this personal record with his Speedmaster XL 145. Alongside quality and high performance, the press’s reliability is also crucial, and not just when deadlines are tight. With a machine availability of over 95 percent, the CEO of Heidenreich Print GmbH knows he can rely on this technology.
The premium commercial print shop located in Bünde in the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia is highly successful in catering to the needs of the high-end print and surface-finishing market. Quality catalogs, mailings, and packaging are still vitally important for large manufacturers of branded goods. And it’s precisely these quality products that Hendrik Heidenreich believes still offer enormous potential for further growth. Back in 1991 the company had only 3 employees. Today, it has 70 working in four shifts, 20 of these in printing alone.
Hendrik Heidenreich decided to switch entirely to Heidelberg technology in 2010. The company now uses a Speedmaster XL 105-6+L with logistics and UV, and in 2011 it became the first user of the Speedmaster XL 145-6+L with UV technology. With an average run of 5,000 sheets, the company has 15 to 20 job changes per press per day. Short makeready times for job changes of 15 to max. 30 minutes are therefore all-important. All in all, the print shop has been able to increase productivity by 30 percent since it made the switch to Heidelberg.
