Raise Print invests in Heidelberg digital technology

10/11/2014

Raise Print has switched from Konica Minolta to Heidelberg Linoprint technology because it preferred the finish which it regards as a better match to litho. It is benefitting from a lower click rate.

“Customers don’t mind whether something is printed litho or digital as long as it suits the product. Often the decision is price driven. Most work of under 1,000 sheets will be printed digital here,” says Steve Bell, managing director of the Keighley producer of print and packaging.

The Linoprint 751 has been delivered and has moved swiftly to full production. Its ease of use and the quality of output means it is also used as a proofer for litho, providing a really good simulation of the final result.

“We are using the same Rip as we had had with the Konica Minolta so operators only really had to learn about issues like changing toner. It was very easy to move to full production,” says Mr Bell. “We are pleased to be supplied by Heidelberg where we have established links; the brand and the service doesn’t come better.”

The press will be used for a wide range of commercial work from short run calendars to business cards, booklets and swing tickets. It will operate on a flexible single shift basis.
