Brightsea breaks through the £10m turnover mark

06/10/2016

The Brightsea Print Group has achieved well over 10 million impressions in the last three months on the Speedmaster XL 75 it installed earlier this year.

The five-colour and coating press was supplied along with Inpress Control inline colour and register inspection and automated adjustment and Prepress Manager workflow so that work reaching the press is exactly right and makeready times are minimised.

This has secured the company new business, a wide range of work for companies that need the quality and turnround times that The Brightsea Print Group can now offer.

The group is an amalgamation of three companies (Brightsea Press, Sprint Print and Bartlett Printing) with a combined heritage of over 200 years and making it a major player in the south west. It prides itself of providing a friendly and professional design and print service with top rate customer care and product quality.

“The Speedmaster XL75 with coater has given us a real lift in output and we can offer a wider range of high quality work,” says Mark Commins, managing director. “We have really benefitted from automated plate loading and the ink.line cartridge system but it is Inpress Control that has really enabled us to slash makeready times and print with confidence, knowing the colour will be good throughout the run and from run to run. It is such a powerful tool. We did look at rival suppliers and the new UV technologies but we know we made the right business decision based on on-going costs and the diversity of products we run and markets we serve. We do always welcome existing or potential customers who want to see the technology, the way we work and the range of products we offer.”

Brightsea’s litho line up is complemented by three digital presses. The five strong design team prepared work for both types of technology. The company is a preferred supplier for the National Trust, Mercedes and other blue chip companies listed on its web site (www.brightsea.co.uk).
