Speedmaster XL 106-4+L and Speedmaster XL 106-5+L. The Peak Performance flagship’s 30 percent productivity increase impresses end customers, too.

This performance is unique to Heidelberg

“We were impressed with the high productivity of the XL 106 in our customer tests in Germany, and we achieve the same results at home in the print shop. Since taking these two presses into operation, we’ve been able to increase our productivity by 30 percent. That is quite something and opens up new, previously inaccessible markets for us,” enthuses production manager Daniel Bouyerden. “We also looked at other manufacturers, but Heidelberg was the only possible choice, thanks to the performance of the technology. These outstanding presses have enabled us to position ourselves much more effectively in high-end print products, particularly in the luxury segment, where we’re continuing to grow. Our customers regularly come to us for print approvals, which means we constantly have to focus intensively on quality, organization, and corporate image. We quickly noticed that our customers were very impressed by these new, highly automated presses. When they come to us, they find the expertise they need.”

The Frazier print shop, founded in Paris in 1896, differs from others owing to its geographical location, which it has developed into one of its strengths, its long history, its acclaimed know-how, and its state-of-the-art facilities. The company, part of the FIROPA Group, has a total of 47 employees and has been headed by Gérard Goujon since 2007. It has succeeded in identifying new market trends early on and always remaining at the cutting edge thanks to its continuous investment in production and technology.

The two Speedmaster XL 106 presses are equipped with the Prinect Inpress Control inline measuring and control system and AutoPlate XL simultaneous plate changer. “These two systems are the key to our increased productivity. With AutoPlate XL we can simultaneously change all the plates and wash the blanket cylinders within three minutes. With Prinect Inpress Control we achieve perfect color stability and quality throughout the run thanks to constant measurement and control of the color. Press downtimes are a thing of the past, paper waste has been reduced significantly, and makeready times cut. We print to ISO 12647-2 and have been able to lower our press operators’ stress levels – all this is an optimum combination that meets our expectations to the full,” explains Bouyerden.
