The printing company Déjà Link describes itself as a “partner for graphic and printing solutions” and offers its customers – mostly number communication agencies and key accounts from the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, luxury goods, energy, and industry sectors – a complete and diverse range of services from design to logistics.
“Augmented reality applications bring our prints to life and lend them a certain dynamism,” explains Laurent Caviale, President of Déjà Link. “Alongside these new communication technologies, our consulting, creation, web and marketing solution departments are constantly working on further expanding our portfolio and offering our customers solutions that are both tailored and original.”
As a member of Impriclub, Déjà Link carries the Imprim'Luxe and Imprim'Vert quality seals, is certified to both FSC/PEFC and ISO 12647-2, and generated turnover of 9.2 million euros with its 54 employees in 2019.
With the installation of two Heidelberg offset printing presses at the end of 2019, Déjà Link completed a comprehensive program of investment intended to transform the Firopa Group subsidiary into a state-of-the-art site equipped with the latest technology: at its Stains site North of Paris, France, an existing Speedmaster CD 102 was replaced by a Speedmaster XL 106 five-color press with coating unit in October 2019, followed in spring 2020 by a Speedmaster XL 106 four-color press with coating unit as a result of the fusion with the printing company AMI at the same site.
Both presses are equipped with the same technology, and feature the fully automatic AutoPlate Pro plate changer which can be controlled from the Prinect Press Center XL 2 control station, automation of all settings from the feeder to the delivery, an optimized sheet travel in particular for low grammages, and the Preset Plus delivery with dynamic sheet brakes for easier throughput of fine papers and a perfect pile. The ink supply with automatic metering using the InkLine 3000 ensures a constant ink level in the ink fountain, shorter setup times through automatic replenishment, and a 3-5 % reduction in ink consumption.
Both presses offer the benefits of Push to Stop in conjunction with and the Wallscreen XL. This means that they can work autonomously, resulting in maximum optimization of production times, low energy consumption, and a significant reduction in paper waste.
In addition, both presses help to improve working conditions by lowering the temperature in the press room, compared with air cooling, thanks to their water- or glycol-based cooling system, reducing powder and paper dust emissions, and limiting electricity consumption.
“With two printing presses with the same format and identical specifications working in three-shift operation, we’ve opted for a standardized machine fleet that guarantees a high level of responsiveness and absolute flexibility between our individual press operators,” explains Laurent Caviale.
“We provided comprehensive training for nine operators, who now have the ability to switch from one press to another if necessary. With speeds of 18,000 sheets/hour, a high implementation rate, and technical improvements such as Push to Stop which we are currently discovering for ourselves, the start-up is taking place gradually. These highly automated printing presses with high production capacity require an appropriate organizational layout to get the most out of them. In a few months we’ll have the overview we need for a real assessment, however things already looking good in terms of productivity and color control."
In addition to the two Speedmaster XL 106 presses, the company also invested in a Prinect Production Manager workflow. “This guarantees better communication between prepress and printing presses and enables efficient monitoring of the ink curves as well as providing us with important production information. In this area, we also benefit from the experience of other affiliated companies that have already worked with Prinect.”
Finally, a new Suprasetter 106 CtP with dual cassette loader was installed in January 2020.
