Speedmaster XL 75-8-P and Speedmaster XL 75-4+L. Record-breaking plate changing in just 90 seconds.
“We installed both of our Speedmaster XL 75 presses in 2014 – the eight-color perfector in July, and the four-color press with coating unit in September. Both are equipped with the AutoPlate XL fully automatic plate changing system, which has cut plate change times to a record 90 seconds,” says David Boisson, the founder of IMP’ACT, on the company’s experience of the new presses. “Thanks to the Speedmaster XL 106 we installed in 2012, we were already familiar with the benefits of Prinect Inpress Control and therefore decided to equip both our XL 75 presses with the system. This means we can benefit from rapid makeready and inking-up times in this format class as well, reducing paper waste substantially and ensuring highly consistent color quality. Of course, this also saves both time and paper and makes operation exceptionally user-friendly,” says Boisson.
Set up close to Montpellier in 1992, the IMP’ACT print shop has gone from success to success. In 2008, founders David Boisson and Alexis Alvarez launched IMPRIMEO, a web-to-print portal specifically aimed at business customers that opened up completely new prospects for development. IMP’ACT currently has a workforce of 47 and sees environmental protection and social responsibility as integral to its corporate culture. This is reflected in the active contribution the company makes toward development in the local area, for instance by consciously opting for products “Made in France.” As a genuinely environmentally aware print shop, IMP’ACT attaches great importance to reducing its environmental footprint and chooses its materials accordingly – opting for recycled or certified paper, plant-based inks, and alcohol-free printing, for instance.
“In selecting the presses most suited to our requirements, we once again chose to invest in Heidelberg, as we believe this brand offers the most sophisticated technology and the best performance. Now that we’ve succeeded in boosting productivity, we’ve been able to build on our market position and are fully equipped for the future,” says Boisson. IMP’ACT is certainly keeping busy – construction has just begun on a new web-to-print location. Its opening in a few months’ time will mark another milestone in the company’s development.
