Intelligent Assistants

With the Air Assistant, new characteristic curves for air regulation can be created and job-related saved, and existing preset values can be individually adjusted.

The Color Assistant Pro optimizes color presets for the different papers, colors, and printing conditions and learns fully automatically in connection with a Prinect color measurement system.

The Powder Assistant enables constant print quality with less powder use and fewer powder-related malfunctions in postpress. It determines a setting recommendation based on the substrate properties and area coverage.

Depending on the degree of soiling, the Wash Assistant selects the optimal wash program for the blanket, the impression cylinder, and the inking unit. However, specifically adapted wash programs can also be assigned according to the degree of soiling.

Transparent production processes

Intelliguide visualizes the optimum timing of a job change and shows any manual steps that may be required during this process as well as the entire makeready process of a job on the Prinect Press Center XL 3.

Intellirun, the new dynamic production view on the Wallscreen XL, automatically shows the operator the correct display at the right time and provides intelligent information regarding the current production status.

Intelliline is an LED navigation support and, for the first time, expands the Intelliguide display to include all printing, coating, and drying units on the operator and drive side. This means that the status of the units is always visible, and the operator is informed directly of any necessary engagements.

Operating our Speedmaster

The Prinect Press Center 3 and Press Center XL 3 with the Speedmaster Operating System navigate the operator through production, the results can be planned, and performance is increased. The new 24" multi-touch screen on the Press Center 3 / XL 3 is the control center of the printing press. It makes operating easy and intuitive - like with a smartphone.

The functionalities of the smart set-up on every Speedmaster can be set to different functional scopes depending on the operator's level of training and can be assigned individually and according to topic.

Push to Stop

Parallel makeready processes

With Hycolor Pro, the dampening system can be monitored and precisely adjusted remotely during production or makeready on the Prinect Press Center XL 3. Precise dampening film adjustment is the basis for low start-up waste, high production quality, and fast postpress.

Hycolor Multidrive shuts down individual units of the machine. An inking unit that is not required for the subsequent job can be cleaned during the production of the subsequent job. Simultaneous makeready processes and optimal productivity combined with maximum ease of use.

Autoplate XL 3 is the fully automatic and simultaneously running plate change. Direct drives on the plate cylinders enable all plates to be changed in less than 1 minute. The plate change is monitored by sensors, and the operator has more time for parallel activities. .

Automated makeready processes

Intellistart 3, the navigated job change. The patented Intellistart 3 defines all the work steps required for the job change without operator intervention and creates maximum transparency for ongoing and upcoming processes. By automating the steps, 70% of the operator's handling is eliminated per job.

The sequence in which the printing plates are changed differentiates between the available plate change systems from Autoplate to Autoplate XL 3. What they all have in common is that they handle the process of plate changes without tools and with high register accuracy, thereby reducing start-up waste.

The automated makeready processes are also supported by preset values for different sheet thicknesses and sizes. Speed-compensated closed-loop controls optimize this additionally. .

Automatic detection of good sheets

Prinect Inpress Control 3 measures and controls the color while the machine is running. As soon as the desired and spectrally measured inking is achieved, the production of the good sheets is released. Uninterrupted production and job changes are possible - an additional step to Push to Stop.

If there are deviations in the inking in a printing unit, this is displayed in the Quality Assist. If the predefined quality parameters are met in connection with Prinect Inpress Control 3, the machine starts producing the good sheets fully automatically.

Prinect Inspection Control uses maintenance-free cameras and lenses to check the printing result during production. It is fully integrated in Intellistart 3, the displays on the Wallscreen XL, and the Quality Assist.

Saving energy

The components CombiStar Pro and AirStar Pro complement each other when it comes to saving energy. The CombiStar Pro controls the temperature of the inking unit. If the ambient temperature exceeds 20° C, the cooling units switch on automatically. With an efficiency of 70%, the AirStar Pro achieves twice the power yield of conventional air supply cabinets and thus saves 84,000 kg of CO2 in case of approx. 36 million prints annually.

The main drive of our machines achieves an efficiency of 95%, which is an average of 5% more than standard motors. The energy generated when the motors are braked is used to drive other consumers in the machine.

With the standby function, up to 3,600 kWh can be saved annually, which corresponds to the power consumption of an average household or 2,160 kg of CO2. The operator can set the standby mode at the push of a button on the Prinect Press Center.

Reducing waste

Prinect Inpress Control 3 starts the ink control fully automatically and, in combination with the Quality Assist, the print run is started automatically as soon as the good sheet is reached. The touch screen on the Prinect Press Center XL 3 is used for operation and display.

When using expensive printing materials, the waste sheet sensor in the feeder is the ideal addition to the Prinect Inpress Control 3. It distinguishes between white and printed sheets. Waste sheets that have already been printed can be used for makeready and makeready waste can be kept to a minimum.

With frequent ink changes, the ink duct foil of our Speedmasters not only saves the operator a lot of time, but also considerably reduces the use of washing fluids. The used foil can be removed from the ink fountain and disposed of quickly and easily.
