Founded in 1990, GL Jaya Print Sdn Bhd has grown into a full-service print provider known for offering one-stop solutions with uncompromising quality at competitive prices. Originally launched with just three shareholders, three employees, and a single HEIDELBERG SORD press, the company now employs 40 staff and operates a full suite of equipment across prepress, press, and postpress. In 2016, it expanded with a branch office in Singapore.
Specializing in commercial and packaging printing for the domestic market, GL Jaya Print operates in a highly competitive environment. The Bukit Serdang area where it operates, South of Kuala Lumpur, is indeed home to hundreds of print shops within a five-kilometer radius. With shorter delivery times, competitive pricing, high quality, and shorter run lengths now standard, the company knew it had to modernize to maintain its edge. A shortage of skilled labor and rising production demands further emphasized the need for automation.
To meet these challenges head-on, GL Jaya Print installed the Speedmaster CX 75-4, a highly automated printing system from HEIDELBERG. Combined with ISO 12647-2 certification, this move has ensured consistent, high-quality output while significantly improving efficiency.

The impact of the new press has been dramatic. Makeready times have dropped from 30 minutes to just 15, while waste sheets have been reduced by more than half. Output speeds have increased from 7,000 to 11,000 sheets per hour, enabling a 20,000-sheet job to be completed in under two hours, including setup. This level of performance simply wasn’t possible before.
Color consistency, once a major issue, is no longer a concern. Unlike the previous machine, which struggled to reproduce identical colors across runs, the Speedmaster CX 75 delivers sharp, crisp color with exceptional repeatability. Even jobs that previously required larger-format presses like the Speedmaster CD 102 can now be handled on the Speedmaster CX 75 thanks to its F-format capabilities. Today, the company produces 70–80% of all jobs on this press.
