Exceptionally successful with special substrates.
When international corporations approach a medium-sized company with 27 employees to have sophisticated packagings printed, you know that this company must offer something very special. Samduck TMP based in Paju in South Korea does so in several ways.
Customers who order packagings made of PET, PP, or metallized paper from Samduck tend to come back. The customers from a wide variety of industries include globally expanding corporations from the cosmetics as well as the food and beverage industries as well as from the FMCG segment, such as the AmorePacific Group or Maeil Dairies. Most have been loyal to Samduck for years. This is due to its uncompromising customer orientation: “We do everything to be a reliable partner to our customers and ensure complete satisfaction,” explains Mun Ha Park, Managing Director of Samduck. The company is a one-stop shop for services ranging from prepress to postpress, including die-cutting and gluing. Value added services such as adjusting the packaging design so that the customers’ wishes can be realized in an efficient way are included as a matter of course. More than anything, however, Samduck impresses its customers with outstanding quality and delivery reliability.

Streets ahead of the competition
The company, which is a leader in customer satisfaction, relies fully on Heidelberg technology for its printing equipment. “Machines from Heidelberg offer the best performance. They are streets ahead of machines from other manufacturers, especially when it comes to dryer technology and print quality. Added to this is the ease of operation,” says Mun Ha Park. At the end of 2017, Samduck put its second Speedmaster machine, a CX 102-8+L with foil printing package , into operation. It joins a seven-year old Speedmaster CD 102-6+L with UV technology. Because the pressure from competitors is growing. More and more commercial printers are entering the packaging market. Specialized print shops are trying to win additional market shares with an aggressive pricing policy. With the Speedmaster CD 102-6+L , Samduck can offer its customers new possibilities and at the same time strengthen its market position.
Flawless quality with minimal paper waste
The medium-sized business uses its technological advantage to keep producing at the highest level. “Our runs start at 200 sheets for preliminary versions and reach up to 50,000 sheets,” says Mun Ha Park. Quality assurance has the highest priority here. During busy periods, for example, the workforce does overtime instead of going from one-shift to two-shift operation, to avoid a change of personnel and therefore even the smallest fluctuations during an active job. Most jobs are produced using six colors, however there was also a case where a customer had a ten-color job printed with a total of six spot colors. The sheets had to go through the machine twice here. This increases the complexity significantly. “The Speedmaster technology we use not only lets us supply defect-free packagings, but also avoids expensive paper waste,” says Mun Ha Park.
Exemplary service and high availability
The Speedmaster CD 102-6+L with UV technology keeps producing top quality, even after over 65 million printed sheets. Other plus points are the high machine availability and the support. Mun Ha Park is really impressed: “We love Heidelberg Service. The specialists are there for us day and night and solve every problem.” Fast response times help Samduck to fulfill orders on time. In addition, the professional maintenance ensures that the machines’ value is maintained. “We are extremely happy with our two Speedmaster machines. They fit our requirements exactly and reliably deliver the high print quality we need to be successful in the market,” says Mun Ha Park.
