Known for producing in-store retail displays and folding cartons for some of Canada’s most recognized brands, ProPrint sought a new press to scale its offset print capabilities without compromising its hallmark speed-to-market.
The Scarborough, Ontario-based company’s typical turnaround time, from receiving a print-ready file to starting live production, is just 24 hours. To uphold this pace while doubling print capacity, ProPrint installed a six-color Speedmaster CX 104 in early 2023 to complement its existing Speedmaster CD 102.
“We like to be able to react on a dime for our customers,” said Richard Krakower, CEO of ProPrint. “So the versatility of the Speedmaster CX 104 is perfect for our business model. If we get a run that’s 100,000 or 200,000 sheets, we can easily produce it on the ‘beastly’ Speedmaster CX 104, but thanks to its efficient makereadies, we can print shorter runs too.”
With high speed, automation, and short setup times, the Speedmaster CX 104 enhances ProPrint’s ability to balance large-volume production and quick-turn custom jobs. The machine ensures that even with increased demand, ProPrint continues to meet its customers’ tight timelines without sacrificing quality or operational agility.
