Located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta near Shanghai, Jiangsu Galaxy Packaging Technology Co., Ltd. has established itself as a leading player in the premium cosmetics packaging industry. With a strong foundation in quality and service, Galaxy Packaging has become the trusted printing partner for many of China's top cosmetics brands.
Operating from a modern 12,000-square-meter facility, Galaxy combines advanced technology with a customer-focused approach. The company generates over 70 million yuan in annual output and continues to grow steadily, driven by the rising demand for high-end packaging solutions in the beauty and health sectors.
"In 2015, we made our first major investment in HEIDELBERG technology with a Speedmaster CX 102-8+L UV press, which marked the beginning of our transition to more advanced printing capabilities," says Lu Jiansheng, General Manager of Galaxy Packaging Technology.
"We followed that with the addition of a six-color Speedmaster XL 75-6+LE UV press in 2018. Most recently, we installed the Speedmaster CX 104-7+LY+1, a cutting-edge seven-color press that enables inline application of both varnish and matte coating.
Previously, this finishing process required two separate runs. Now, we can complete it in a single pass, which has doubled our production efficiency and significantly improved product quality. This upgrade immediately helped us secure a new order worth 10 million yuan."
Galaxy’s evolution from electronics printing to high-end cosmetics and health supplement packaging reflects a strategic transformation driven by innovation. The company is recognized as a High-Tech Enterprise and a Welfare Enterprise in Jiangsu Province, and continues to invest in smart manufacturing.
“We’ve built a digital workshop where real-time production data from all three of our printing presses is monitored and displayed,” continues Lu Jiansheng. “We’re also in the process of applying for recognition as a ‘Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative Enterprise.’
Looking ahead, our goal is to develop a fully intelligent production facility equipped with advanced systems, from CTP and automated paper cutting to high-speed hard-covering machines. These upgrades are the foundation of our integrated packaging capabilities.”
After completing his studies, Lu Zhenfei, Head of R&D and second-generation leader at Galaxy Packaging, joined the company with a clear focus on driving process innovation and advancing technology. Affectionately nicknamed the “beauty guru” by his colleagues, he brings a new energy and perspective to the packaging business.
“When I first entered the printing industry, I found it incredibly complex,” recalls Lu. “But through ongoing collaboration with our clients and exposure to new product development, I’ve come to find the work both challenging and rewarding.”
He highlights one example of a long-term partnership: “One of our flagship clients is Zhu Ben, a cosmetics brand best known for its makeup remover. We began working with them when they were just a 15-person startup. By 2014, their sales had reached 1.5 billion yuan. Growing together with our clients and supporting their success has been one of the most fulfilling parts of the job.”
Galaxy Packaging is ambitious about the road ahead.
“Our aim is to become one of the top three packaging companies in Kunshan,” says General Manager Lu Jiansheng. “By 2025, we will expand our facility by another 11,000 square meters, bringing our total production space to 20,000 square meters. We also plan to add two to three new printing presses, with a goal of reaching 200 million yuan in annual output. That’s the vision we’re working toward.”
