In November 2025, Abedik, a book printing company based near Poznań in Poland, achieved a record monthly output on a Speedmaster XL 106-8-P from HEIDELBERG.
Operating the press continuously from November 1 to 30, 2025, the Abedik team produced 10,479,785 sheets. The press is designed for speeds of up to 18,000 sheets per hour.
According to Radosław Balicki, Operations Director at Abedik, the result reflects the performance of the latest-generation Speedmaster press, the strong coordination within the production team, and the consistent service support provided by HEIDELBERG Polska. “We’re especially pleased that we’ve broken the previous record by nearly a million sheets,” he says. “This is thanks to our excellent team, the technology, and the service support of HEIDELBERG Polska.”
Bartosz Rusin, CEO of HEIDELBERG Polska, states that the achievement highlights both the technical capabilities of the equipment and the importance of close cooperation between the printing house and the local service team in day-to-day operations.
Founded in 1995, Abedik focuses on the production of paperback and folded books. The company operates a modern machinery park including six presses from HEIDELBERG, that enables it to carry out a broad range of printing and finishing processes.
The printing house currently produces approximately 30 million books annually, covering around 6,000 titles for around 300 publishing houses in Poland and international markets. Abedik has received several industry awards in Poland.
The company is also committed to sustainability. It holds FSC certification, operates its own apiary, and reports that approximately 80% of the energy used in its operations comes from renewable sources.
