Since 1982, the Hispagraf Group, headquartered in Loeches, Madrid, has impressed clients with its service, capacity, high quality, and speed—essential characteristics in a highly demanding industry such as the pharmaceutical sector. With a Speedmaster CX 104 and a fully automated production process using HEIDELBERG products, the company ensures its competitiveness for the future.
Hispagraf prints all types of packaging jobs with a highly skilled team that is very comfortable with the new 104 and its level of automation, which allows them to simplify manual tasks during the various changes in both formats and materials.
Setup times as a cost factor: HEIDELBERG has long been an important partner for Hispagraf; we must not forget that all the printing units bear the mark of the German brand from Wiesloch. The company invested in two Speedmaster presses—a CD 102 and an SM 102—in 2012. In 2023, the new Speedmaster CX 104-6+L was finally installed, sharing production space with its two predecessor presses but gaining prominence day by day.
With the help of its innovative coating unit and automation features, such as AutoPlate Pro and Prinect Inpress Control, the Madrid-based print shop has managed to further increase productivity. Automatic plate changing and automatic color control, for example, have reduced makeready times by two-thirds.
After taking stock of the numerous advantages, David Pérez feels his decision to choose HEIDELBERG was the right one: “The transition has been quick and seamless, and the new Speedmaster CX 104 has perfectly met all our expectations and requirements, especially when it comes to print quality, color consistency, flexibility, and sustainability.”
Furthermore, expert advice and effective communication have been complemented by reliable service. Looking ahead, the resale value is much more enduring than that of similar equipment from other brands.
“When it comes to sustainability, for Hispagraf, this is not merely a cosmetic issue. With a reduction in waste of several hundred sheets per makeready process, plus the waste heat from the water-cooled Speedmaster CX 104—which can be used as an energy source for other functions—the press fits 100% into our work philosophy. It is a model of efficiency and process simplicity,” says David Pérez.
