At the Hunkeler Innovationdays Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), together with Müller Martini and Polar, will present a range of finishing solutions aimed at print shops and bookbinders. The event will take place in Lucerne from 20. until 23. February 2017. The focus for all three manufacturers is on solutions for the economical finishing of short production runs from digital printing operations. A highlight of the joint booth will be the presentation of the Digital Presto II saddle stitcher from Müller Martini with an integrated Heidelberg Stahlfolder TH 56 producing brochures live. The visitors to the fair will be shown flexible production without compromising high quality which delivers a high economic return on small to medium runs. Separately visitors will be able to see in action the Stahlfolder BH 56 buckle plate folder, a reasonably priced but professional machine giving the printers the opportunity to upgrade their folding operations. Visitors looking for fast job turnaround solutions for sheet cutting and book trimming are fully covered by machines from Polar, the D56 programmable guillotine and the BC330 three side trimmer.

On the Kodak-booth a Hunkeler machine produces two jobs, showing quick job changes together with the Inlinefolder Stahlfolder TH 56.

Folding Machine Heidelberg Stahlfolder TH 56

The Stahlfolder TH 56 is the ideal machine for finishing digitally printed sheets because of its high levels of automation, reasonable investment costs and a compact foot print. The machine’s flat pile feeder is very user friendly and thanks to the AirstreamTable infeed sheets will be precisely aligned and transported without any risk of marking.

The parallel fold unit with automated folding rollers, slitter shafts and combination buckle plates gives short set-up times and delivers the promise of increased net output. The Stahlfolder TH 56 can be used separately as a standalone folding machine and is also easily and in no time integrated into inline-production solutions with the saddle-stitcher, increasing flexibility, utilization and guaranteeing a good return on investment.

In a mutual presentation about the data management system Connex of Müller Martini and the print shop workflow system Prinect of Heidelberg, the visitors will get extensive information about the benefits of process integration. The production benefits of increasing digitalization and automation of manufacturing processes, particularly when it comes to finishing operations will be clearly demonstrated. Heidelberg is fully committed to enabling customers to realise the benefits of digitalization and offers corresponding solutions for the whole process chain with the „Smart Print Shop“.
