Maximum Folding Precision: the Right Folding Roller Technology for Accurate Folding Results

Extra Grip folding roller technology
The Extra Grip folding rollers have steel and polyurethane rings that are distributed so as to prevent the steel segments of adjacent rollers from running on one another. At the same time, there are about 30 percent more polyurethane rings in each roller, which significantly increases traction. The PU rings run precisely in the direction of paper travel to ensure outstandingly accurate folding and straight-ahead transport of the sheets. Extra Grip folding rollers are available in two versions - with soft or hard PU - to accommodate a wide range of paper types with weights as low as 50 gram per square meter. The hard PU version is especially well suited for thinner papers.

Manual or motor-driven folding roller adjustment
For precisely setting the folding rollers and slitter shafts, the Stahlfolder TH/KH are equipped with a proven FESTA adjustment. The adjustment knob is simply underlaid with an appropriate number of paper strips; the settings are directly transferred to the folding rollers and slitter shafts without any play.

The Stahlfolder TH/KH are optionally available with a motorized system for adjusting the folding roller and slitter shaft spacing. The paper thickness is measured by the sensor of the double-sheet detector at the feeder. There is no need to insert a stack of paper beforehand and feed a learning sheet. The control system automatically adjusts the folding roller gaps and the roller train - while taking the fold type and paper properties into account.

  • Extra Grip folding rollers for optimum sheet guidance without marking
  • FESTA adjustment for precisely setting the spacing of folding rollers and slitter shafts
  • Optional motorized setting of the folding roller gaps for different folds, taking the paper properties into account
