Metal FX |

With Metal FX metal pigment ink, versatile metallic tones can be obtained from just one basic metallic ink. An MFX basic silver or basic gold is printed first and then overprinted with transparent offset inks. This allows over a million different metallic tones to be created with just one basic pigment. The high purity, transparency and intensity of the pigments provide optimal reproducibility and brilliance with layers of limited thickness. MFX basic ink pigments are available as UV or conventional inks. MFX ink is used for folding cartons and high-quality commercial items such as car brochures or magazines. This packaging for a shower gel shown in the picture for example was printed on a Speedmaster with fully integrated UV configuration. A UV-based MFX silver is printed in the first printing unit, followed by transparent overprinting with four UV process colors. Intermediate drying/hardening takes place after the first, fourth and fifth printing units. The coating unit is used to spot apply a UV gloss coating in order to make the water droplets on the print motif glossy so that they stand out.
