Acorn Print, Willenhall (UK)
The British print shop Acorn Print was founded in 1986 by the
three directors Graham Woakes, Alan Broadhurst und Gary Morgan.
Acorn Print has been a Heidelberg customer ever since.
Acorn Print has recently invested in a new five-color
Speedmaster
SM 74 - a very special one as it contains the 30,000th
printing unit of this product line.
In a small ceremony, which was also attended by some
Heidelberg employees at the Wiesloch plant, CEO Bernhard Schreier
handed over the Speedmaster SM 74-5 with the 30,000th printing unit
to the three directors of Acorn Print.
With this new press, the print shop based in Willenhall, West
Midlands, would like to start offering its customers products in
the A2 format. The company with 20 employees has installed
Heidelberg equipment along the whole production chain - from
prepress to press and postpress. In the pressroom, for example,
there are two Speedmaster SM 52 presses and a Printmaster GTO 52.
Last year, the print shop generated sales of £1.2 million
(approx. 1.73 million Euro). Its main products are four-color
commercial jobs with coating for advertising agencies, industrial
companies and public bodies. "The Speedmaster SM 74 will make
us even more flexible and will enable us to offer our customers
high-quality products and even shorter delivery times",
explains Acorn Print.
