Simply the best
Simply Print switched from Ryobi to Heidelberg a year ago and they have no regrets. The company liked the Printmaster PM 52 technology with its scaleable automation (and ordered a five-color press) and they liked the "quality, service and professional attitude" that Heidelberg offered.
"There are regular calls now from customers saying how pleased they are with a job or how good it looks. This never happened before."
Andrew Rae, Director, says: "The press is fantastic. It's performed outside any expectations we had when it came in. It makes printing a job so easy. We can get customers through the door asking for 1,000 four-color business cards and they are ready just hours later. Before we could have handled runs of 500 to 1,000; now we handle those but we are frequently given runs up to 250,000 as well."
Simply Print estimates that 60 percent of work through the press is straight four-color production with an equal split then between fifth unit specials and seals. But the speed of the press means that sometimes they will even run a two-color job through because it is faster and more cost-effective to do so.
The press is fed with plates produced on the Heidelberg Prosetter. The company will network prepress and press as part of its next stage of development.
"We all criticise suppliers, don't we?" says Mr Rae. "I really haven't had any problem at all with Heidelberg. Their support is amazing. When we buy again it will be a Heidelberg."
