Daru Graphic has updated its B3 facilities and moved to new 2,000 square-foot premises adjacent to a full colour B2 printer in the Staines area to create an opportunity for reciprocal trading. There the Company has installed a Printmaster PM 52-5 five-color press.
Managing Director David Lewis says: "This was our third new Heidelberg. I don't look at other makes because I know from experience that Heidelberg machines don't break down. The Classic Centre front end on this particular press convinced me it was the way to go.
Looking to take on more trade work, this front end will enable me to give the same results as a B2 press but in B3 format and being five-colour we can seal four- color work in one sheet pass."
The Company was formed in 1971 by David Lewis's father and combines the names of David and his sister Ruth to make Daru. David joined the Company in 1983 and assumed the Managing Directorship six years ago. He bought first a single-colour GTO and then a two-color but now he sees the need for more color and the advantages that single pass production and greater automation can bring.
Daru Graphic handles a large amount of trade work as well as airport and hotel business. Its product portfolio is comprehensive.
