Printmaster PM 52 from Heidelberg surpasses 1.5 million impressions at St. Johns Press
St. Johns Press, a general commercial printer based in Jacksonville, Fla., recently added a four-color Printmaster PM 52 press to its all-Heidelberg shop to upgrade from a Printmaster GTO 52 press.
Within two months, the Printmaster PM 52 has produced more than 1.5 million impressions. Company owner Joe Sabol reports that he is "very pleased with the PM 52’s speed and efficiency," adding that the press is a "perfect fit for our shop."
The new press provides quick makeready times for the shop’s short-run work, contributing to significantly reduced turn-around times. In addition, the Printmaster PM 52 relieves the shop’s four-color Speedmaster SM 74 press by handling some of its mid-sized jobs. Sabol reports high quality with the new press, noting the shop’s satisfaction with the "very sharp dot" produced.
Producing a variety of materials, such as four-color envelopes, brochures, newsletters and flyers, St. Johns Press’ run lengths can range from 1,000 to 40,000 impressions per job on the Printmaster PM 52. Founded in 2000, the family-owned and operated shop’s staff of 23 primarily services local clients, including corporations, manufacturers and advertising agencies in north and central Florida.
