announced a global agreement for cooperation in the area of digital
data communication. The respective cooperation contract was signed
by Holger Reichardt, Member of the Board of Heidelberg, and Edward
J. Driscoll, Chief Executive Officer of WAM!NET Inc.
Main focus of the joint activities is the development and
marketing of solutions targeted and tailored to the needs of user
in the graphic arts industry. While WAM!NET provides the ideal
infrastructure for digital communication to the customer,
Heidelberg supplies color management and soft-proofing solutions.
This cooperation will further offer to its customers in the
printing and publishing industries news venues in the adoption and
utilization of digital workflow. The relationship is viewed as a
first stage of a cooperation which will continue to evolve
supporting the industries', and specifically Heidelberg's
customers, needs in e-business, e-printing and publishing.
On a regional basis, Heidelberg's sales team will offer
integrated solutions of data delivery and network management with
Heidelberg presses. Over the next 12 months, WAM!NET will integrate
Heidelberg's color management tools with a number of its
services to provide color management workflow for current and
future customers.
