For the first time, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg)
will be presenting the Speedmaster XL 105 in conjunction with the
new Prinect Inpress Control inline color measuring system at an
Open House event organized by the company and being held in
Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 9-11. This means the color
measuring and control system, showcased at Ipex in Birmingham, UK,
in April, is now also available for Heidelberg high-end presses in
the 70 x 100 centimeter (27.56 x 39.37 inch) range. The first
deliveries of this press type are planned for the second quarter of
2007. Prinect Inpress Control will be available for the Speedmaster
CD 74 from November 2006 onwards.
Prinect Inpress Control measures color and register in the
quality control strip on the fly. The new system significantly
reduces press downtimes because there is no need to pull sheets or
halt the machine during the setup stage and the register can be
checked and adjusted online.
"With Prinect Inpress Control, Heidelberg has developed
a spectrophotometric inline color measuring and control system
specifically for standardized print shops that change jobs
frequently. Feedback from field-test customers confirms the
system's high level of reliability in terms of measurement accuracy
and the major contribution it makes to cutting print production
costs," says Dr. Jürgen Rautert, Board Member responsible
for Engineering and Manufacturing at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen
AG, describing customers' initial experience of Prinect Inpress
Control.
The advantages of Prinect Inpress Control at a glance
- Quicker inking-up and less waste: setup and inking
adjustments on the fly - without sheet pulls
- Precise color matching for CMYK and special colors through
spectral inline measurement
- Consistent print quality enabled by continuous production run
monitoring delivers increased customer loyalty
- No need for extra register adjustment thanks to automatic
register control and adjustment in parallel to color
measurement
- Flexible assembly using smaller control strips and variable
positioning of the quality control strip from the front edge of
the sheet to its center
- Touchscreen control on the Prinect CP2000 Center cuts the
printer's workload
